Every day while you’re walking around, be it heading for work in the bus or MRT, going for lunch, we’re bound to see girls that will attract our attention. Always have to urge to step forward to ask cellphone for their contacts? Well below are some simple tips that I think that might increase your success rate.

1. Humans are visual creatures. How you look will definitely be the most important key factor. You can’t change your looks for sure. You can however improve how you look. Greasy Hair, Dirty nails are a turn off.

2. If you have decided to go for it, go for it. Hesitating and thinking of the consequences is often something that many of us do. By hesitating, she would probably have notice your presence and sense your low confidence. You do not want her to picture you as someone of low confidence and trust me they’re able to detect it straight away.

3. Asking properly. Confidence comes into play again. Rehearse a couple times in your head, what you’re going to say upon approaching her. Everything should come out smoothly. Example: “Hi my name’s Chris, (if you have seen her more than once) I have seen you a couple of times around here. Do you mind if I have your number? Maybe we can be friends” Make everything short, simple and clear. A smile would be a plus.

You do not need any good pick-up lines, as long you are sincere is good enough. If you are using those fanciful pick-up line, girl might think you are a player going around to get to know girls.

4. Do not approach suddenly. If she doesn’t notice you, you could always start off with “Excuse me”to grab her attention. Last thing she wants is a stranger “jumping” onto her and asking for her contact.

5. Make Eye contact. Looking at her shows that you’re fully there. Do not look elsewhere such as looking down on her feet or gazing around while waiting for her reply.

6. Give her a few seconds to decide. Just because she hesitated for a moment, doesn’t mean she’s not going to give it you. A smile would be good in this case. Complimenting on her dressing/looks will also help as girls usually respond well to compliments.

If you’re rejected, do not be demoralised. You might have carried out everything perfectly, but she still has the final choice. If you have not done your best, learn from your mistakes and polish your skills. You never know when you’ll succeed, good luck!
