1. The Picnic Date
   A picnic is definitely a cheap way to enjoy some quality time together. The key is to find a locale that has scenic view. You could make your picnic basket more presentable with a decent bottle of wine, some fresh exotic fruits and breads or toast. Just have plan in case of bad weather.

   Budget Damage: $15-$40. The price varies according to how extravagant and decadent you want to be here. Deli sandwiches, chips and water will likely only set you back 15 bucks. Brie, wine and fruit will increase your tab, but impress more.

2. The Coffee Date
   It great if both of you are caffeine addict. Café are great for dates as they’re casual and you’re likely only be footing the bill for a couple of lattes and desserts. Whereas at a bar, where one drink could escalate into many, coffee will likely not evolve beyond a single refill. For bonus, you can choose a café that is part of a bookstore so you can position yourself as literati.

3. The Hike Date
   Hiking gives you an excellent opportunity to show off your manliness. Enjoyed the nature and the wild together while burn some of the calories is definitely enriching. It’s also a perfect opportunity to chat up your date, enjoy the outdoors and show her you’re a resourceful guy. You could read up some information about certain plants and animals and explain to your date when you encounter them. If you live within close vicinity to a hiking trail, this is your best bet.

4. The Art Date
   Read up the local paper and you could find that there are some open invitations of art galleries, museums or other events. Most of those entries are discounted if not free. Take advantage of this opportunity to take your date out for some quality culture. Spend some time reading up on the current exhibits prior to your date. This way, you can at least maintain the facade that you have your finger on the pulse of the art world. Or you could just visit the local library to have a quiet and educational date.

5. The House Party Date
   If you know someone who’s throwing a jamboree pretty much every day of the week, why not attend them with your partner. Just make sure that the rendezvous isn’t that “Crazy” party. The food and drinks will likely to be taken care off but you should not show up empty-handed too.

   Another option is to visit a local brewery. The alcohol acts as a social lubricant and is typically free (or heavily discounted). If you hit a brewery right around happy hour, you might even score free appetizers! Or you could go down to the local car showrooms for test driving a car with your partner if you are fine for the sales personnel to stick around.

   Budget Damage: $0-$20. This assumes that the tasting evolves into knocking a few back and perhaps a small plate for the two of you to share.

7. The Home Cooking Date
   Nothing better than homemade food. The beauty of this approach is that there are no logistical constraints. It doesn’t matter where you live or what day of the week it is, and you control the budget for the menu. If you’ve never cooked before, this could be a chance for you to learn. Watch some cooking shows and you should be able to go. Both of you could even discuss the receipts together and formulate a new love dish. But never attempt to cook for a woman on the first date.

   Budget Damage: $30-$50. You do not need to spend a fortune to craft a quality meal. But a good bottle of wine, a solid entre and an excellent dessert can scarcely be found for less than $30. If you pull this off with the desired results, $30 will seem like a trifle.

In order to enjoy date success, variety is the catch here. If you always choose dates that are clearly because of the cost, the likelihood that your woman will begin to perceive you as a skinflint is high.  But it’s also not to make it a tendency for woman to become accustomed to expensive dates. That’s not to say that you have to break the bank to win a woman’s heart.
